Senior Leadership Team

Our senior leadership team are here to introduce themselves. Each year group has a head who oversees all teachers in their age group.

Jon Reynard - Headteacher

Welcome to Ocklynge Junior School!
It gives me great pleasure on behalf of all the staff, children, parents and governors to warmly welcome you to our wonderful school.
I hope you find this website both informative and inspiring and that it captures the essence of the school. Ocklynge is a very happy and welcoming school with a staff team that is fantastic- nurturing and inspirational. We all aspire to provide the best learning experience possible.
Our shared aim is to provide an outstanding education for children of all abilities. We offer a wide range of opportunities to inspire children in their learning. We want every child to achieve their own highest possible expectations and actively encourage close co-operation between home, school and the wider community.
We are all immensely proud of our school and constantly strive to improve all that we do.

Sandra Denton - Deputy Headteacher

I joined Ocklynge in September 2012 after having worked in the East End of London for thirteen years.
I am delighted to be part of this vibrant school and aim to support the many initiatives which enable our pupils to enjoy a broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum.
My main passion is literature and I aim to expose children to good quality texts at every opportunity. I have even been known to quote Shakespeare in P.E lessons!

Rachael Willer - SENCO

I joined the team at Ocklynge in 2019 having been the SENCO at an Academy Trust in Bexhill-on-Sea for over four years. I believe that all children can achieve their dreams when they put their minds to it and I strive to nurture and encourage all children to aspire, believe and achieve to their full potentials.
In my spare time, I enjoy running marathons, reading children’s books and spending time with my family.

Sylvia Berhane - DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead)

I have been working at Ocklynge Junior School for about 15 years, and have held various positions, from Head of Year 4, Head of Year 5, deputy headteacher and at present the safeguarding lead. I am passionate about children's well-being and safety and am always striving to create a school where children feel secure, happy and safe. I believe that for children's learning to be able to progress, they need to be in the right emotional state to do so. I therefore work with children, staff and parents giving support and help where I can and ensure that the systems that are in place at our school work to benefit all children, and most importantly are there to keep them safe.

Stevie Bodé - Head of Year 3

I became part of the team at Ocklynge in January 2017. I have very much enjoyed working with such a motivated, hardworking and fun team of people. I am very excited about my new role within the school and am looking forward to the challenge.

Nicky Cavaliere - Head of Year 4

I have been part of the Ocklynge team for many happy years! During my time here, as well as being a class teacher (which is still the part of the job I love the most), I have been English and Maths curriculum lead and for the last two years, Head of Year 4. I am fortunate to work with a team of really dedicated, enthusiastic and hard-working staff in Year 4 who all strive to do their very best for the wonderful children we have here at Ocklynge.

Zoe Linzey - Head of Year 5

I joined Ocklynge in September 2017 having worked at 3 other local primary schools. I am delighted to be working at Ocklynge in the role of Head of Year 5. I currently lead year 5 as well as working on whole school initiatives.

Jo Hatt - Head of Year 6

I joined Ocklynge Junior School in September 2018 as Year 6 teacher after teaching for 7 years at Seaford Primary School. My passion is teaching: I love being a part of helping children to grow and become the best they can be. I am very much looking forward to my new role as Head of Year 6 - we have a great team working together to prepare children for secondary school life.
