Make Way for the Ducklings!
We were so lucky to have a visit from these little guys! They are Potato, Spud, Fry, Mash and Wedge. We discovered that ducklings make just the best friends! They enjoyed a mountain of peas and sweetcorn, and made us say ahhhhh every time they wiggled their tails or fluffed up their feathers.
A huge thank you to Antonia, our Pupil Support Officer, for bringing the ducklings in to visit us!
Meet Our Furry, Feathered and Shelly Friends
We love having animals in school. Caring for animals first-
Opens up a world of learning and increases engagement across the curriculum.
Helps children expand their emotional language and understand the importance of caring for others.
Our gorgeous female bantams are called Madame Oreo, Madame Cookie, Madame Smoke and Madame Violet. Our resplendent cockerels are called Monsieur Goujon and Monsieur Nugget.
Our cheeky guinea pigs are called Nutmeg and Ginger.
Turbo and Shelly are Herman Tortoises.
Our newest furry friends are Flopsy and Mopsy. As you can see, they enjoy their food!
OUR FIRST CHICK HAS HATCHED!
Our first chick started to hatch around 3pm on Sunday 9th May.
We collected the eggs 3 weeks ago from underneath a very broody Madame Violet. The first 2 chicks have arrived a couple of days early and are happily chirping away. We thought it would be lovely to share the exciting moment they emerged!
