We keep a number of animals at the school including chickens, guinea pigs and tortoises. The children love spending time with our animals and develop important life skills from their interactions.
Meet Our Furry, Feathered and Shelly Friends
We love having animals in school. Caring for animals first-hand:
-
Opens up a world of learning and increases engagement across the curriculum.
-
Raises self-esteem and builds a sense of responsibility and respect for others.
-
Helps children expand their emotional language and understand the importance of caring for others.
Our gorgeous bantam chickens are called Madame Nugget, Madame Oreo, Madame Goujon, Madame Coco, Madame Cookie, Madame Lavender, Madame Smoke and Madame Violet.

Our cheeky guinea pigs are called Nutmeg and Ginger.

Turbo and Shelly are Herman Tortoises.

Make Way for the Ducklings!
We were so lucky this term to have a visit from these little guys! They are Potato, Spud, Fry, Mash and Wedge. We discovered that ducklings make just the best friends! They enjoyed a mountain of peas and sweetcorn, and made us say ahhhhh every time they wiggled their tails or fluffed up their feathers.
A huge thank you to Antonia, our Pupil Support Officer, for bringing the ducklings in to visit us!
